Ridiculous... There is no other word...

Sometimes I'm amazed at the complete stupidity of other people. Stupid and nonsensical and basically insane.

A couple of years ago I was kind of seeing a certain guy. We ended up having a huge blow-out fight and I basically cut him out of my life. He basically said I was naive and stupid for believing in monogamous relationships, that they never work out, that there is no such thing anymore. Yeah, a real charmer. Oh and he said all of this after telling me he was engaged to someone else (that's right, while he continued to see me). I told him it would never work (he asked her to marry him after "dating" her for a couple of months). He of course said it would, that I was bitter. So I pretty much said "fuck you," and ended all ties. Well, a couple of months ago he emailed me, apologizing, saying I was right, it didn't work, and that except for the huge fight we had the last time we talked that we never argued, that he realized I was an awesome person to be with, blah blah blah. I decided to at least talk to him again, and for a while (and for a while I mean about a week and a half) he continued to pursue me. I figured I'd let him do the chasing, that if he was serious, he'd try to see me. Slowly, that faded, and pretty soon, I didn't hear much of anything from him.

Now I find out he's "in love". He met this girl (yes, I say GIRL and I will get into that in a little bit) a WEEK ago, and he's in love and they are planning on moving in together. WHAT? To top it all off, he's my age. 32. She's NINETEEN! What the hell is wrong with people? Yeah, I can see this lasting, oh about 3 weeks. About twice as long as they've known each other. Come on! I'm all for hitting it off with someone and wanting to see that person, but after ONE date say you're in love? You're either on drugs, hallucinating, or have serious mental issues. Or maybe all of these.

I could care less that he's seeing someone else. I am more irritated at the fact that he is feeding her the same lines he once fed me. Only I was smart enough not to swallow (pun INTENDED).

One word. Ridiculous.

Crafty Accomplishments.....and other things

I finished my shrug this past Sunday. Just in time to wear this coming Tuesday to a dumb work function I have to go to. Also, I'm almost (almost as in have to sew up one seam) done on my ester shrug. I didn't think I would have had to block it, but it looks like I should have - it seems to be a bit snug and I think blocking it would have taken care of it. Oh well, I'll just try to steam block it bigger when I go to steam block the collar.

Big news for Obama today picking up Richardson's endorsement. Take that Hillary. I just find it amusing that her campaign responded with "his endorsement is basically meaningless at this point, because it is past the point where it would have made a difference". Right... The only hispanic governor who also happens to be a superdelegate makes NO difference. *picture eye-rolling here* I'm sure she would be singing a different tune were she to get the endorsement.

Oh and may I just say - men can be complete bullshit sometimes. Here I thought that my response to the "excuses" would have at least garnered a reply in return, but no. It's almost a week later and I have heard nothing. As I write this I find that I am not angry anymore. I really hadn't thought of any of this since going to see my brother this weekend (when I vented to his girlfriend). I almost find it amusing now. Instead of coming home in anticipation of an email, I come home and I pretty much say to myself, "I bet there isn't an email there".

I've cut the string. And I'm moving on.

I present the world's longest piece of string.....

......And at the end is me, tied and trying to cut myself free.......

Enough of the metaphors, here's what's really going on.

A mere three days ago I posted the "happy happy joy joy" entry. I convinced myself I had overreacted to the "disappearing man". I was thinking how he's not like the others (FINALLY) in that he really wasn't being evasive, that things had come up beyond his control and limited everything else in his life.

I believed he really was into me.

That is, until today. I'm pissed. I'm more pissed than I was before. Before, I ranted and I was done. I'm pissed today. I'll be pissed tomorrow. At least at him.

Here's why. Thursday, we talk on the phone. We agree to meet up Saturday in GR. He said he would think about where to meet and talk to me on Friday. Sweet. I'm excited. Wait. Let me backtrack this and tell another story first. One that will justify me being pissed off.

About ten years ago or so, I was on-again, off-again dating this guy Chris. I had moved to Kalamazoo, he still lived in Jackson. He had come to visit before, and was planning on visiting on a certain weekend. We had planned it out that he would be in Kalamazoo after work on Friday and stay through Sunday. I always worked Saturday mornings, but I arranged it for someone else to take my hours so I could spend it with him. He said he would be at my place by 7pm. 7 comes and goes. 8 comes and goes. Soon it gets close to 9, so first thing I did was talk to the person I had given my hours to at work and said I would work after all that it appeared he wasn't going to show up. I try calling him at home. He's not there. He never shows. I FINALLY get a hold of him late afternoon Saturday. Where was he? Out with a friend drinking. He said he stopped with a friend after work and "before he knew it" he was drunk and couldn't come over. That was the last time I spoke to him.

Fast forward to the present. Last night - no phone call, no email. I try calling - phone is shut off. I leave an email wondering what the plans were since I hadn't heard from him (I left the email after midnight - so it's not like I didn't give him an opportunity to call me or send an email).

Well guess what. Oh I got an email. At 11AM!!!!! And guess what the excuse was? Yep, "before he knew it he was drunk". Oh that, and his cell phone died. So tonight is cancelled because of it. Since when did buying a cell phone become not only an all-day but all-night expedition? When I bought mine, I think I was in the store, hmm... a half hour? And most of that time was spent transferring the account.

This is why I pulled my profile from the dating service. I'm tired of this shit. I'm tired of being thought of last. I'm tired of being strung along. I'm tired of the inconsiderate acts of the opposite sex. I'm tired of assholes.

And that's exactly to me what he's being. Exactly what his friends told him not to be when they were giving him advice about our first date. Don't be an asshole. Well, he is now. Because, to me, not getting in contact with me DURING the day yesterday or even when he got home last night, is being an asshole when he specifically said he would let me know about tonight. And the cellphone and drunk excuses are just that- excuses. Excuses and bullshit.

I deserve more than that.

happy happy joy joy!

That pic pretty much sums up me at the moment. happy happy joy joy happy happy joy joy happy happy joy joy joy!

Oh in case it wasn't obvious..... I got a message.. from the disappearing man... Turns out he disappeared through no fault of his own.. (He was helping a friend in need all week - said it really put things in perspective and in his own way apologized for not getting back to me sooner) AND he wants to see me soon..

Which I probably will this weekend. happy happy joy joy joy!

And in unrelated news. I'm on the hunt for a new vehicle. I won't actually be buying it until probably June, but I'm searching like crazy and I've come to realize that what I want doesn't exist and I'm going to have to order it. I can't find a Saturn VUE with a manual transmission with the mileage that I'm looking for (less than 15,000 miles) and the 08 VUE doesn't come in a manual. I did find one with 12,000 miles here in town but I have a feeling it will be sold by the time that I can buy it. So I may have to go with my second choice - the Ford Escape. At least with the Escape I can order a manual if I need to. I am just really picky - it has to be a manual and it has to be black. No automatic transmission for me! I just really wish that Saturn would again have the option of a stick shift. DAMN THEM!

And before I head off to bed... I forgot one last thing... One last happy happy joy joy thing.. Obama won Mississippi with 61% of the vote! What's that I hear? A hammer striking a nail? On a coffin perhaps? Oh yes that and the faint sound of taps being played for the death of Hillary's campaign.

happy happy joy joy joy!

Mrs. Sippy

I still remember being asked to spell "Mississippi" by one of my cousins. I spelled it "Mrs. Sippy". Pretty ingenious for a 5 year old, huh?

That story sprang to mind today as it is primary day in Mississippi. I believe that Obama will carry the state, which, in my opinion, puts another nail in the coffin that has Clinton's campaign in it.

I have done the math. It is virtually impossible for Clinton to overtake Obama in elected delegates. I went so far as to see how the count would come out were she to win every primary/caucus left with 60% of the vote - which is unlikely, but I wouldn't say impossible. Still, Obama comes out on top. The only way that Clinton would be able to top Obama in elected delegates with the remaining races is to win at least 4 remaining races with 65%. And then not lose any more. There has to be at least 50% of the vote her way in the remaining 7 after winning with 65% to take more elected delegates. Can we say statistical impossibility? She was once up 20 points in Texas. It was cut to 4 points. 65% is just not going to happen. Let's even say that Pennsylvania votes the way Ohio did. That's only 54%. 11 points shy of the magic number. If she wins EVERY race by 62% - she still falls short (by one delegate).

So Ms. Clinton I have this to say:

Hillary, it is time to throw in the towel. You CANNOT win. Accept defeat and concede. The party and the nation will respect you more. The dirty campaign you are running is not working. You seem to be more on board with the republicans and have all but endorsed McCain. Your pathetic olive branch of offering the VP spot to Obama is insulting and condescending. As Kenny Rogers sang, "you've got to know when to fold, know when to walk away." That time is now. Before any more damage is done.

It's been one week.......

Since the date. One week ago at the time I am writing this, I was pulling into a parking spot in South Haven. Checking my make-up and walking up to the place where I met the disappearing man. That's what I am calling him now since he just up and disappeared on me. Well, maybe not completely up and disappeared, more like slowly vanished.

Yeah, that's right, still no email. No phone call. Nothing. I thought of the Friends episode where Chandler went out on a date with Rachel's boss. And at the end of the night said, "well that was great, we should do it again sometime, I'll call you." Of course he never intended to call her. But he said it to be courteous. I thought, well is that me? Was I just handed the same line as the character on Friends? Then I thought about it more. And it just doesn't make sense because he wrote me AFTER he had said it to me at the end of the date. He wrote how he definitely wanted to see me again AFTER he also said he'd call me. Not one time, but two. I know I keep going on and on about the same thing day after day, but it still makes no sense to me.

That and I have no life. So I have nothing else to write about.

Making sense without making excuses....

That's what I'm now trying to do. Make sense of what is going on without making up lame excuses.

Hard to do. Almost as hard as being patient.

After freaking out and subsequently calming down, I find myself on the brink of freaking out again. I'm really really trying to be patient - but I guess I just don't understand why I'm getting such limited responses to my emails. Or, like the most recent one I sent, no reply at all.

I'm going through everything in my mind and it just doesn't add up. I find myself comparing him to a guy that I know who is interested in me (who I am not interested in at all beyond friends and I have told him this). This other guy calls me nearly every day, even though I've said we wouldn't be anything more than friends. My point is, he calls. He called as often before he asked me out. Basically what I'm saying (and thinking) is this - wouldn't someone who is interested make more of an effort to keep in contact? Regardless of how busy they are?

And here come the excuses. I know he really hasn't dated anyone in a long time. He was hurt pretty badly in his last relationship (this all goes back to his major issue being trust) and stepped away from dating. Could it be he has gotten so used to being single, that even though he is interested, he's used to not having to be in communication with someone? Is that possible? I try to figure out the male's mind and I just can't do it. I know for me, when I am interested - I'm excited to hear from them, excited to talk to them, excited to see them, excited to even send an email. I look forward to coming home and seeing a new message. I would like to think guys are the same way?

I guess I'm really not freaking out so much as I am totally and utterly confused at this point. I think I'm going to send one last email because I do want to at least tell him about my day today - he'd appreciate the story I have to tell him. If I don't hear back from him after that, then I pretty much know my fate is sealed.

click click pull...

For all of my ranting yesterday, it seems I may have jumped the gun a tad. What can I say, I've never claimed to be patient person. And it seems the older I get, the more impatient I get. At least about certain things. I guess I've just gotten to the point where I'm done screwing around - I don't play games therefore I don't want someone who does.

I DID get an email today telling me that he has been busy "putting fires out" with little time to do anything else and that we will talk soon.

As a coworker said to me today, "immerse yourself in work and don't think about it." That is what I'm going to TRY to do. Ball's in his court now anyway because I wrote back stating I hope things calm down for him soon and that I'm looking forward to talking to him and meeting up for dinner. And I may have said something to the effect of hoping he didn't take my previous message the wrong way (yeah I did).

The only thing to do now is sit and wait and see what happens. Wonderful.

Is he or isn't he?

Into me that is? I have to say dating SUCKS. SUCKS SUCKS SUCKS and oh yes, SUCKS.

In the past year, I really haven't dated that much. I started dating someone at the beginning of last summer and he ended things when "something tragic" happened in his life. To this day I don't know what it is, but that was the story I was told and after that all communication has ceased. Before that, I had a string of bad dates or dates that didn't pan out due to me not really being interested and of course the call-back dates - the ones who really weren't great for being in a relationship with, but who were still around when I wanted to go out (or yes the booty call). But even the recalls ended before the summer semi-romance (I say semi because well, nothing happened more than hugging - after a month of dating!).

So I've been laying low when it comes to dating. I do still have a profile on a dating site. I am not paying for it, so I "disguised" my email address, hoping that someone intelligent would pick up on it. I figured, hey if someone would take the time to read my profile, take the time to figure out my email address, then they may be worth my time because obviously they have a brain.

Which brings me to what has happened recently. On Valentine's Day I get an email from a guy who saw my profile on while flipping through them with a friend who had an account. He read it, apparently liked what he read, and figured out my email address and proceeded to email me. He did not have an account on the site that I'm on, but said that maybe he didn't have to now that he saw my profile - that's how interested in me he apparently was.

We exchange emails for about a week and a half - loooooooooooooooong emails. And he asks me to meet him sometime soon. I agree to meeting him, and we met this past Saturday at 7pm. It wasn't supposed to be a late night because he had to work the next day. Well, it turned out to be a late night because we didn't end the date until after 1am. He even sent me an email when he got home saying he had a nice time and he wanted to see me again soon. I felt the same way. I had a great time, and I wanted to see him again as well. It's the first time since, well, this past summer, that I was actually looking forward to a second date. And it definitely seemed that he felt that way. I had never had someone email me immediately after a date to tell me what a good time they had. I thought I had actually found someone decent. But it seems I was fooled.

Let me backtrack a little here. During the course of the date, we were discussing, well, issues we had with the opposite sex, things that bothered us in the past. My biggest issue is communication. It seemed for a while I would go out with guys, think that everything was great (and we are talking about more than one date here and more than one date but not jumping into bed), but they would disappear. No more phone calls. I'm not the type to call over and over. I'll try one maybe two times and if I get no response, I'm done. I didn't tell him all of this, I just said how the lack of communication was frustrating. How guys are, well, pussies in the fact they just can't come right out and tell someone they don't want to see a woman anymore. His big issue, by the way, is trust.

But I digress. Taking into consideration my biggest pet peeve when it comes to dating and relationships is communication, anyone can see why the following irritates the hell out of me, and how it is clear I am going to remain single. Because there truly are no decent guys left.

So back to the story at hand. We meet on Sat. Things are great. He says he wants to see me again. I agree. He then asks about a place to go. I ask where or when.

And stop.

That's right. No response. Let me put this in perspective: Sat night - email stating he had a good time/let's meet soon Sunday morning - email stating I did as well/meeting soon sounds great. Mon morning - email asking about dinner. Mon evening - email response from me asking where or when.

But wait, it isn't actually stop. Because I DID get an email. TODAY. It was just TWO SENTENCES. Two sentences about the primaries last night. It is, and I quote, "Looks like Obama took one on the chin last night. This is going to go to the wire."

And let me just say. This email was in DIRECT response to mine because we made a joke about seeing how long of a chain of emails we could make off of his initial one (up to 22 by the way). So I know for a FACT he got mine.

WHAT the HELL?????? Okay, I would say that there was no interest if he had said "I'll call you" on Saturday night and that was that. But he made it a point to ask me what I was doing this week at the end of the night and said he wanted to meet up for dinner after work some night this week. (Yeah, for those keeping track - it's now Wed going into Thursday - I'm thinking BULLSHIT now) He also made it a point to ask in not one, but two emails after Saturday about dinner. Now I get NOTHING. Nothing but a two sentence email? No response to my email at all? The email from me wasn't just about dinner either. I had some witty stories and commentary that deserved a response. At least I thought so.

I did try to call him. Twice. Once last night - he had his phone off so I left a message. Once tonight and no answer and I didn't bother. So he didn't even comment on the fact that I had left him a message!!!!

All that keeps going through my mind now is the episode of Sex and the City where the now famous line "he's just not that into you" was first brought out into the public eye. The whole line of "if he's into you, he's coming upstairs, he's booking the second date". Well, there wasn't the invite upstairs on Saturday, but I definitely thought he was semi-booking the second date considering at the time neither of us really knew what day would work out best - but he DID ask.

I guess yet again I got my hopes up. I thought that maybe since he was hurt in the past (one of the things we talked about) he would at least know enough not to hurt someone else. Or else he truly has turned as bitter as his friends say and instead treats women like crap.

I know it's only Wednesday. But I refuse to believe the "something came up" because he took the time to write two sentences. It's not all that more time-consuming to write two more. Something like, "hey this week won't work out for dinner [insert whatever came up]. how about next week instead?" It took me about 5 seconds to write that.

So much for dating. There truly are no good single men left out there.

Just the facts, ma'am.....

I am so angry right now. The anger has been with me for about 7 hours now. A long time, I know, but it's rooted in misconception and the spreading of lies.

Right now I'm reading Barack Obama's book "The Audacity of Hope". I read it on breaks at work, and usually get about 5 pages read or so because it is such a conversation starter. I don't mind at all, especially because most of the time it usually revolves around questions about Obama or it's just outright support for the man who I hope will be our next president.

What I don't like is people trying to be slick and spreading what has proven to be false accusations and criticisms.

That is what happened today. I am sitting quietly reading, when an associate walks in and says, "Barack Obama, huh? So, you fancy yourself a Democrat then?" To which I reply, "Yes, I do fancy myself a Democrat." He then replies, "I like him, if I were to vote Democrat, I would definitely vote for him. I think he's a good guy." Then all hell breaks loose. This other associate pulls him aside (mind you still within earshot of me) and he goes on and on about how Obama's a Muslim, he belongs to a racist church that doesn't allow anyone in that isn't black, how Obama's supporters can't name one thing that he's done while he's been in office.

So I go off. Big time. I tell him everything he just stated is a big fat lie. He says how he got the email from a family member and they are reliable. I tell him it's an email forward, it's been circulating for a while, and that it has been proven false. I tell him to go to snopes.com. He then says he wasn't talking to me. I tell him how he was in a public area, he said it KNOWING that I could hear him, and that I was not going to take the false criticism and accusations against someone that I want to be the next president of the United States. And I also go into the political background of Obama - telling him exactly how many bills that Obama has signed, authored, or supported. I tell him don't categorize all Obama supporters of not knowing what he has done (he of course said that he didn't say that). The other guy apologized for even saying anything. I tell him it's not his fault, I'm just not going to sit idly by.

I know I shouldn't let it bother me, but it's this exact kind of closed-mindedness that has sent this country down the path it has been for the past 8 years. I got an email forward saying that if I didn't send it on, I was going to suffer from god-knows-what. I never forwarded it, and the only thing I've suffered from in the past year was a fever last month. Yeah, I'm going out on a crazy limb here and say that the two are NOT related.

So, I printed off the two articles from snopes that show exactly how wrong this guy's "trusted source" is. There are two different emails floating around, I don't know which one this prick got, but either way, he's wrong.

And I'm going to put a little note that says, "Next time, check the facts - everything you claim to know is a rumor"

Should be sufficient.

MI and FL delegates should NOT be seated

In this election year's primary/caucus season, there were two primaries that were punished by the Democratic National Committee. Those two states are Florida and Michigan. These two states broke the rules and moved their primaries ahead of what is allowed by DNC rules. Their punishment for this was that their delegates would not be seated (that is, counted) at the national convention where the presidential nominee is named.

In Michigan, candidates had until October 9th to pull their names off of the ballots. Five of the candidates did this. Sen. Clinton did not. It is no surprise then, that she won in Michigan considering she was uncontested. In Florida, the same thing. She ran uncontested.

Anyone who is not living under a rock I am sure has seen/heard the election coverage. And can see that Sen. Obama is gaining momentum. By leaps and bounds. As I write this, he has taken over the lead in TOTAL delegates. That includes superdelegates!

Well, guess what Sen. Clinton now wants. That's right, she wants the delegates from MI and FL to be seated. I cannot even begin to get into how unfair and unjust this would be - not only to Sen. Obama, but it would be a slap in the face to the voters in these two states who were not able to vote for the candidate they felt was best suited for the job.

As a voter in the state of Michigan, I am urging everyone to sign the below linked petition to stop the DNC from seating these delegates. Make it a fair election. I have read that the DNC would allow summer caucuses for each state that would fall under election guidelines and therefore allow candidates to campaign equally. That would be the best solution to what could easily be something that would destroy people's faith in a fair and democratic process. It would be, at the basest of all levels, cheating by Sen. Clinton.

Please sign this petition if you are a believer in a fair nomination process.

We're All Stars Now... In The Dope Show....

I feel I must rant about something that happened last night. Yes, I woke up this morning still pissed. And I'm at my wits end as to what to do about it anymore.

Where I am living, I have lived for around 8 years now. Needless to say, I have lived here the longest. There are only four apartments in my building, and each of us has a parking spot in the garage. Seeing as I have lived here the longest, I have "earned" the right to have the best parking spot. Seems only fair, right? It's the way it's been since I've first moved in. I once had the awkward spot that was hard to back out of - and I worked my way up the ladder to the one I have now.

So, this past year, everyone moved out of the other apartments. All new tenants. The first new tenant to move in NEVER parked in my spot. Which really makes me wonder if my landlord has the same lease as he did when he first took over the apartments (assigned spaces in the lease). The second new tenant parked in my space one time. I left a note saying welcome to the building, explained how that's my parking spot, blah blah blah. She hasn't parked in my spot since.

Which brings me to tenant number 3. The dope show. As in pot smoking little bitch. First night after she moves in - parks in my spot. I left the same kind of friendly note as I did with the other tenant. A few days go by, and I come home from work and she's blocking the driveway with her car. I wait it out and a couple hours later she leaves. She does this kind of bullshit on a regular basis. I don't have a normal schedule, so it's not like she can park there knowing that I won't be home for hours. Plus, not only is she blocking me, but she's blocking another tenant's space as well. Oh, and I knock on her door (the first time she did this) to ask her to move, and the bitch never answered her door - and I could hear the music from inside and giggling. Another time she did it, I was even what I thought cool about the situation and told her if she needed to she could park behind me once I was in the garage because I wasn't going to leave until the next morning. You would think she would take the hint. And it's not like these times that she blocked the entire driveway that there wasn't parking on the street. There was.

So, last night I come home from work. And guess who is in my spot in the garage yet again. Oh yeah, I'm pissed. I get out of my car and slam my door, ready to give this little bitch a piece of my mind, when as soon as I slam my door, she comes out the front door and says something, more like mumbling. I say "HUH?" At this point, I'm done being polite. She again says something like "I'm.....gonna... move... car...." She is so high that simple sentence construction was beyond her. After finally getting to park in my spot, I walk in the front door of the building and the smell of pot is so strong it about knocked me over. Not only that, but instantly I had a headache and wanted to throw up.

Now the dilemma. Do I be a complete and utter bitch and complain to the landlord? I don't mean about the parking. I mean about the drugs. I cannot stand the smell of marijuana. It makes me sick to my stomach. And despite the fact that I am not completely against marijuana in the fact that I don't think it's any more harmful than alcohol, it is still an illegal drug. The smell reached up into my apartment. That is not fair to me. I was half tempted to call the cops, but what do they really care about people smoking some pot in an apartment - I think they are more concerned about the dealers.

I know the reason why I'm more irritated about the pot smoking than normal is because I can't stand this chick. It's true. I can't. It sucks that when I get out of work now, I don't look forward to coming home because I don't know if I can even get in.

Ugh. I just don't know what to do anymore. The obvious note didn't work. Let's hope that my being completely pissed off last night worked. There was no mistaking my slamming of the door that's for sure.
